HABIB BIN MUZAHIR
********************
He is one of the famous martyrs
of Kerbala. Habib bin Muzahir Asadi belonged to the tribe of Bani Asad.
He was one of the companions of the Holy Prophet (S.A.W). He took part
in the battles of Jamal, Sifin and Nehrawan in the company of Hazrat Ali
(A.S). He was one of the special companions of Hazrat Ali (A.S) and learned
the subject of 'Manaya and Balaya' (knowledge of future) In the movement
of Hazrat Muslim (A.S), he tried to convince the people to help Hazrat
Muslim (A.S). He was among the leaders of Koofa who wrote letters to Imam
Hussain (A.S). Imam (A.S) also had a great respect for him. In Kerbala
he was the commander of the left wing of the army. Habib tried his best
to bring people from Bani Asad to help Imam (A.S) but the army of Umar-e-Sa'ad
stopped them from reaching there. Once in a meeting of Bani Asad, Habib
had a talk with Maitham-e-Tammar in which both of them predicted about
each others future. This talk surprised all the audience. This was the
result of the knowledge given to them by Amir-ul-Mo'mineen (A.S). On the
day of Aashoora Habib was very happy as he knew he was going to be martyred
and joked with Burair bin Khuzair. His martyr was very unpleasant for the
Holy Imam (A.S). He was 75 at that time. His head was also lead to the
city of Koofa along with other heads.
